The electro-magnetic pulses stimulate your muscles to contract, much like they would do if you were exercising them. In the case of your pelvic floor muscles, the electro-magnetic pulses stimulate your pelvic floors to contract in a similar way to if you were doing a kegel exercise – except there are many more contractions which are stronger and faster.
The electro-magnetic stimulated contractions are involuntary and occur at pace of approximately 20,000 every 30 minutes. Research shows this is the equivalent of doing approximately 1’100 pelvic floor contractions in a 30 minute session.
On arrival at the studio we will ask you to complete a short form confirming a few things (for example, that you’re not pregnant).
You will then sit on a hard flat ‘cushion’ which the electronic magnetic pulses come out of.
We will start you on the lowest pulsation level and slowly work the power level upward so that the pulsations are within your comfort range. As your pelvic floor muscles get stronger, you may want to increase the intensity of the workouts.
At the end of your session you’ll be able to go straight back to whatever activity you had planned – there is no downtime.
We recommend 3 – 5 session over 3 weeks s are the optimal number to achieve the obvious benefits of pelvic floor strengthening.
You can wear anything, however as you’ll be seated for 30 minutes we recommend you wear something comfortable such as gym or leisure wear. If you’re coming during a work break then you may want to come in your work attire, that’s fine as well.
Each session is $130 and there is no requirement to book a minimum number of sessions.
We try to be flexible and will do out best to accommodate you. However, in some circumstances where you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment then there may be a $50 cancellation fee.
